HOW DID YOU BECOME INTERESTED IN FETISH/BDSM?
I’ve been into kink in my personal life for years, and my interest came about organically, as it does for most people. I had a lot of fantasies involving power dynamics and, also like most people, I initially didn’t know what to do about them. I tried to suppress them and wound up in a series of unhealthy relationships. Soon enough it occurred to me that I was placing myself in non consensual D/s dynamics instead of approaching kink in a healthy, open way. I made the decision to start looking into BDSM, to read up on it and get involved with the scene, and since then I’ve been much happier!
AND HOW DID YOU TRANSITION FROM AN INTEREST TO IT BEING A PROFESSION?
I actually never intended to do BDSM professionally. Like a lot of young people, I had trouble finding work during the recession, and I saw an ad about becoming a dominatrix. I figured it was at least worth a shot, since I already knew so much about kink. I was pleasantly surprised when I found I quite enjoyed doing D/s for pay and really threw myself into it. I started switching and recently took the next step in my career by going independent.
WHAT CAN SOMEONE SEEING YOU AS A PRO SWITCH FOR THE FIRST TIME EXPECT?
They can expect me to approach our session with a kind of intellectualism that’s not overly common in the profession these days. I spend a good deal of time analyzing peoples’ desires in order to bring their fantasies to fruition, because I find both of us have more fun that way. All new clients of mine must fill out a fairly detailed questionnaire before I agree to meet with them, and the ones who really appreciate this personalized approach are the ones I know I’ll mesh with best. Those who are looking for a quick, impersonal whipping aren’t going to do well with me.
CAN YOU EXPLAIN A BIT ABOUT BEING A SWITCH AND HOW THAT DYNAMIC AFFECTS YOUR WORK?
I believe kink is a kind of sexual orientation, one that can be either static or dynamic. For me it’s the latter; I respond to dominant play partners by taking on a submissive mindset and vice versa. This allows me to do well with a variety of clients, except those who come to me saying, “I usually sub, but I really want to try domming!” Chances are they won’t be acting very dominant, and so I’ll sort of slip into that role myself. But, hey, that can be a great way to learn how to dom!
WHAT KINDS OF PEOPLE BOOK SESSIONS WITH YOU?
As I said above, most of my clients are those who want a very personalized approach, who understand that, as I say on my site, “my pleasure in domming doesn’t come from doing whatever I want and seizing control; it comes from getting inside your head and making you lose control of yourself.” As such, my sub clients are very diverse in their needs. My Dom clients are usually fetishists with specific requests, like spanking or tickling, who don’t want to shell out for a full-service pro sub, otherwise known as a submissive escort (they’re the most common kind of pro subs). I also see a good number of switches, and, since I’m one of the few pros who offers educational lessons, a decent amount of clients who are simply curious about BDSM or looking to learn skills to take home to their partners.
AND WHICH SIDE OF YOU ARE THEY MOST INTERESTED IN SEEING?
Most of my clients are subs, partly because there’s just a larger market for that and partly because I am purposefully very selective about who I allow to dominate me.
DO YOU ENJOY FETISHISM/BDSM PLAY IN YOUR PERSONAL LIFE, AND IF SO WHAT ARE YOU INTO?
Yes! I’m primarily into the D/s aspect in my personal life, as a role player, though I frequently use corporal punishment as part of those scenes. I’ve realized that, if I’m domming more at work (as I usually am), I’m subbing more in private and vice versa.
YOU ALSO HAVE A NEW WEB SITE, CAN YOU TELL US A LITTLE ABOUT IT?
I went independent in December and realized I needed my own site to let prospective clients know what I’m about. It’s one of the more comprehensive pro-domme / pro-sub websites out there, and I like to make sure to update the photo gallery on a regular basis.
WHAT DO YOU HAVE PLANNED FOR THE FUTURE?
Sometime in the next few months I’m going to start renting from a private play space and am considering getting into the Clips4Sale game.
READ ANY GOOD BOOKS LATELY?
I just finished Octavia Butler’s Parable of the Sower, which reminded me how much I love speculative fiction.
WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE MOVIE?
Picking a favorite anything is always hard for me. I’ll go with the best movie I’ve seen recently: Stoker, directed by Park Chan-wook. I have a thing for psychological thrillers… and Matthew Goode!
