HOW DID YOU GET STARTED MODELING?
At 16, I joined a live stage cast of the Rocky Horror Picture Show. The cast leaders were fetish photographers, and we did tons of shoots for our website. That led to other gigs with fetish photographers around LA. I eventually became a Suicide Girl, and a published tattoo model. I now do a lot of freelance work, including editorial and runway, and am signed to the commercial talent agency. I'm also a fine art model, and started sitting for portraits and drawings a few years ago. I've posed many times for Michael Hussar, Ryan McGinness, and Mattew Bone, among others.
WHAT EXCITES YOU ABOUT MODELING?
At first, I just liked to play dress up and feel sexy. I'm awkward and introverted in person, and it felt good to play characters who are powerful and confident. More recently, though, I've been enjoying exploring artistic and experimental shoots, creating moods and atmospheres. I also love being an art model; it's an honor to be painted by my favorite artists.
DO YOU COME FROM A BACKGROUND OF TRAINING IN THE ARTS?
I have a degree in art history from UCLA, and have worked at a few museums and galleries. I love photography, drawing and painting, and am currently going to Otis for Textile Design.
WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE TYPES OF OUTFITS TO MODEL IN?
The classic fetishist in me loves sky high stilettos, lingerie, stockings with garters, and corsets.
CLASSIC PINUP HAS BECOME A HUGE PHENOMENA LATELY, WHAT ABOUT IT FIRST CAPTURED YOUR INTEREST?
There's nothing better than a sexy girl in a sexy pose. It's fun to look at, and fun to do.
HOW DID YOU BECOME INTERESTED IN FETISH/BDSM?
I've always been strongly attracted to the mysterious and taboo. Fetish clothing and strong women archetypes are huge turn ons. It was a natural progression to become a fetish model early on, and then later pursue BDSM as a serious hobby.
DO YOU ENJOY FETISHISM/BDSM PLAY IN YOUR PERSONAL LIFE, AND IF SO WHAT ARE YOU INTO?
I'm not a lifestyle Dominant - I prefer my personal relationships to be balanced in power - but I am a trained Dominatrix, and played professionally at a dungeon for many years. I enjoy sadism, but my main interest lies in unusual fetishes. I am continually fascinated by the human brain and its endless variety of predilections and obsessions, and I enjoy helping people explore them in a safe and nonjudgmental way.
WHAT IS IT ABOUT TATTOOS THAT INTRIGUES YOU?
There's something so powerful, even shamanistic, about turning features of one's internal psyche into external markings on the body. And good tattoos are damn sexy.
ARE THERE ANY OTHER CREATIVE MEDIUMS YOU WORK IN?
I've always been into underground art, and I've been performing with Art of Bleeding http://www.artofbleeding.com/ as Nurse Amanita for a few years. We're a medical-themed performance art group, run by Rev. Al Ridenour, the former head of the LA Cacophony Society, that produces deeply satirical skits, videos, and live installations. Our performances usually involve copious amounts of Sexy Nurse semi-nudity, and blood... lots of blood.
WHAT KIND OF MUSIC DO YOU LIKE?
I love dark/glitchy/scary/noisy/weird, and lush/poppy/booty/hood/bass at the same time. Lately I've been into Pain Teens, Otto von Schirach, Synapscape, Wolf Eyes, Die Antwoord, Azealia Banks, Gucci Mane, A$AP Rocky, Britney Spears, Earl Sweatshirt, and Lady Saw. TYBG.
WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO DO FOR FUN?
Art openings, hiking, cliff jumping, getting high with friends, eating delicious foodz, dancing, reading, discussing the universe, and playing dress-up at bottle-service clubs are all good times to me.
