THIS IS YOUR SECOND APPEARANCE IN fIXE fORCE, WHAT WAS THE REACTION THE FIRST TIME?
I was excited. I hadn't really been published much at all yet and was still working on building a modeling portfolio. It's amazing how much one can grow in just a few short years, but I'm just as glad to be interviewed by you guys again.
WHAT HAS CHANGED FOR YOU SINCE THEN?
Well, I've done way more shoots, working with Brian Shoff, Jason Starr, and various other photographers. I've also been in a few films, became a professional Catwoman for conventions and other events, and started modeling for college drawing classes.
YOU'RE SOMEONE WHO COULD OBVIOUSLY MODEL IN A NUMBER OF OTHER MEDIUMS, HAVE YOU EVER?
Sure. As I've mentioned, I started dabbling in all sorts: films, events, posing for art. The Catwoman job are the most fun since she's a character I can easily identify with. (Not to mention people wouldn't think it's weird that Catwoman is carrying a whip around with her...it's generally accepted and a must-have accessory.) Being recorded on film is a whole new experience though. Not only do I have to look the part of the character, but the emotions have to carry into my movements and everything
AND WHAT KEEPS YOU COMING BACK TO FETISH MODELING?
The clothing style captures the essence of my tough/taboo persona, while being impersonal enough to not show any vulnerability. (That's speaking purely of the bondage, leather, and corset wear.) Pin up and the romantic goth in lace is charming, but adding different elements like blood/weapon play and bondage makes it more interesting to me. I'm not frail and I like intimidating people just as much as striking their fancy.
ARE THERE ANY ASPECTS OF FETISH MODELING YOU DON'T ENJOY?
My answer to this is pretty much the same as it was last time. Nothing gross...no vomit, feces, urine, or removing of body parts.
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO SOMEONE WHO IS NEW TO THE MODELING?
Learn to be as shelf sufficient as possible. The more you're able to do, the more essential to the shoots you are. Also, if you lack the eye for this sort of thing, bring someone along to your shoots who does. That way the photographer has one other set of talented eyes to pick out and work on the best photos. You'd be surprised what a difference it can make.
WHAT OTHER PROJECTS DO YOU HAVE PLANNED FOR THE FUTURE?
I've got a few movies coming up, working on a design project now, skull art, having a book published with Jason Starr, and more Catwoman gigs.
WHAT ARE YOUR TURN ONS?
Nice eyes, an intellect that leads to good conversation, nice facial profile, Maynard James Keenan's voice...good music for that matter, tight-lacing, and the ability and restraint to "tease".
WHAT ARE YOUR TURN OFFS?
Close-mindedness, stupidity, the general public, sports, most religious followers, the color yellow, and mimes.
READ ANY GOOD BOOKS LATELY?
Lately, I haven't had that much time to read, but recently I started going over some of Poe's work again. There's a nice tavern in Baltimore that is Poe themed and it got me in the mood for some poetry.
WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE MOVIE?
Hmm...this one is always difficult to answer because it really depends upon what I'm into at the moment, but if I had to pick one, it would be The Labyrinth. Catching music, David Bowie, and puppets...What's not to like? The art put into those puppets was and still is impressive. I love Brian Froud's style.
