HOW DID YOU GET STARTED MODELING?
My mother was a photographer when I was growing up, so from the moment I was born I was her little muse. Because I was always in front of a camera I developed a natural talent to being photogenic. This led me to enter a modeling talent search at West Edmonton Mall held by Mode Models at age 14. I was picked in the top 5 and this started my adventure thru the world of modeling.
WHAT EXCITES YOU ABOUT MODELING?
I love how every day and every shoot is different. I love the diversity in genres, how each job can be a completely opposite from the job before.
WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE TYPES OF OUTFITS TO MODEL IN?
I love swim wear, lingerie or nude with props. I have a petite frame and high fashion runway clothes rarely fit me.
WHAT ARE YOUR LEAST FAVORITES?
I don’t enjoy trousers or runway. I hate how flashy and poorly fitted the outfits are and I don’t enjoy high waisted anything or one piece bathing suits.
WHAT KIND OF SHOOTS WOULD YOU LIKE TO WORK ON IN THE FUTURE?
I would love to explore liquid latex super hero/comic book themed shoots. While in Mexico Modeling 2013 I attempted a couple under water shoots. I didn’t like the result but I would love to try again, while of course still critiquing fetish “Helmut Newton” inspired shoots.
CLASSIC PINUP HAS BECOME A HUGE PHENOMENON LATELY, WHAT ABOUT IT FIRST CAPTURED YOUR INTEREST?
I grew up watching cartoon icons like Roger Rabbits ‘Jessica Rabbit. Because of her I always longed for full hips, long legs, a tiny waist, Full breasts, sing song voice &sultry sophisticated demeanor. Then when I was introduced to “The real life” woman versions like Bettie Page, Marilyn Monroe, Rose McGowan, Jayne Mansfield & Dita Von Teese. I realized that I could in fact love my curves. In my eyes these women owned their curves, commanded attention, demanded respect & exuded confidence while being sexy. This taught me the power of confidence and really who wouldn’t want to be ironically sexy?
HOW DID YOU BECOME INTERESTED IN FETISH MODELING?
Back in 2004 a good friend of mine Zach Lowe gave me a coffee table book of contemporary nude portraits by Ralph Mohr for my birthday. I read ‘The Truth of the moment” insert about his remarkable experience and 8 year journey collecting classic black & white portraits of 52 male and female subjects ranging from ages 19-42 nude and in their own environment. I was so intrigued by this collection I started exploring fetish style photography. In 2011 I was introduced to Martin Bougie of Blooming Flowers and did my first fetish shoot and loved how amazing it turned out. I was hooked and this created a yearly adventure with Martin shooting fetish.
DO YOU THINK PINUP AND FETISH ARE BECOMING PART OF THE MAINSTREAM CULTURE?
Yes absolutely!!! Women are taking back the power of sensuality and exploring more and more. This has been emerging since 2005, thanks to such shows as “Nip/Tuck” &“Kink”. Books like “50 Shades of Grey”. Movies like “Eyes wide shut” & controversial ads like Dolce & Gabbana ą€ 2007, JBS Men’s underwear “Women”, Tom Form 2008 Ad collection and American Apparel. Now it’s no longer Taboo to explore sexuality.
ARE THERE ANY OTHER CREATIVE MEDIUMS YOU WORK IN?
I love painting as a medium to relieve stress. I write as a form of expression and am currently attempting to write a ‘memoir”. As a child I was constantly enrolled in every form of dance & my LOVE OF DANCE comes thru on my every day behavior.
WHAT KIND OF MUSIC DO YOU LIKE?
I have a diverse love for so many types/genres of music. It really depends on what I am feeling or where I am to what time of the day it is. Music enhances my creativity so when doing shoots I look to music as inspiration as to what feeling or mood that is required and expected of me to portray. Such as Massive attack zeds dead remix of paradise circus the original song has always excited me and after watching the video I was hooked and that became my Inspiration behind The Libertine ‘The Attic” Shoot
WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO DO FOR FUN?
A large part of my life is modeling. When I am between gigs I still like to model while helping students modeling for art classes and photography classes. I also live in a beautiful city with a huge lush thriving river valley and enjoy utilizing it for running, walks and to jog the stairs. On down time and weekends I spend time with my friends having dinner parties and checking out shows and music festivals to get my dance on.
