WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO PICK UP A CAMERA?
I picked up my first Dslr on October 2007 to start shooting events for my church’s youth group. I then started shooting some impromptu photoshoots with kids in the group and found out that I wasn’t too bad at it. So I moved on to shooting more headshots, glamour and now fashion.
WHAT KIND OF SHOOTS WOULD YOU LIKE TO WORK ON IN THE FUTURE?
I’d love to shoot more fashion (high/fetish/alt).
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU HAVE FOR ANYONE JUST STARTING OUT IN THE INDUSTRY?
Network, network, network. If you don’t have the funds for proper education, network with other photographers and learn from them. I’m pretty much self-taught and what I didn’t know, I found out through other photographers. In addition to networking, I read a lot of photography books, magazines and watched a lot of tutorial videos.
WHAT KIND OF MUSIC DO YOU LIKE?
I listen to old-school R&B mostly. I prefer to shoot with house music.
WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO DO FOR FUN?
Hang with my family and friends. Read. Make props or clothing for shoots.
