HOW DID YOU GET STARTED MODELING?
I started off originally as a self-portrait photographer in high school, and as many of the kids in my photography courses needed models, I’d get asked to help out. As things continued on, I began to fall in love with both photography and creating images, and now I love being in front of the camera as much as I love being behind it.
WHAT EXCITES YOU ABOUT MODELING?
I never really got to play dress up as a kid, but as I grew into an adult I found that taking part in playing roles and dressing up can be fun! It doesn’t take all too much to become a different character, just a little bit of makeup and an attitude adjustment. I can become a new person with hair product.
DO YOU COME FROM A BACKGROUND OF TRAINING IN THE ARTS?
I consider myself a photographer, first and foremost, and a model a close second. I have had very little training in any sort of studio or professional types of photography. Before I took photos I was really into fashion and design, though I would illustrate much more than sew, but I can do both. I’ve had the most training in painting as well as illustration, and normally draw ideas to shoot and poses to try off the top of my head. It helps me plan out things better, and plus, it's just a lot of fun.
WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE TYPES OF OUTFITS TO MODEL IN?
Lingerie and dresses, most definitely. A lovely woman named Betsey Johnson once said "Girls do not dress for boys. They dress for themselves, and of course, each other. If girls dressed for boys, they’d just walk around naked at all times," and I believe it is very true. I normally run around in jeans and t-shirts when I‘m not working, so when the time comes to get to play dress up, I want to be as feminine as possible.
WHAT ARE YOUR LEAST FAVORITES?
I don't like wearing outfits that I don't find cute or sexy in. I don’t like being photographed in pants either. I’ve got curves that I'm not afraid to show off and pants cover them way too much.
WHAT IS IT ABOUT TATTOOS THAT INTRIGUES YOU?
I’ve just started getting into tattoos, but what I love about them is simple; It’s a form of art. My tattoo artist puts so much time and devotion into making my work stand out, and any little thing that happens to my skin can affect them.
ARE THERE ANY OTHER CREATIVE MEDIUMS YOU WORK IN?
Writing, literature, drawing, painting, and photography.
WHAT KIND OF MUSIC DO YOU LIKE?
Everything! Except country music. I really cannot stand country music.
WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO DO FOR FUN?
I love sitting back and relaxing, does that count as fun? (Kidding…maybe). I love to go shopping, walking, go to concerts (of which I do a lot of photography work for), and ski. In the summer I love to go swimming…if it’s warm enough.
