HOW DID YOU GET STARTED MODELING?
I grew up in a family full of artists, models, actors, writers and musicians. My mother was a model for years, posing in playboy and hustler. Its no wonder I grew up needing to express my creative freedom in any artistic outlet I could find. I started as an artist, then a photographer. I ended up getting in front of the camera a lot to show models different poses I wanted them in, slowly I became accustomed to modeling myself. I had a few bands ask me to be on the covers of their albums, a few designers ask me to model their clothing and jewelry, and it just grew from there. I now try and balance my modeling career with my photography career.
WHAT EXCITES YOU ABOUT MODELING?
I’ve always been an exhibitionist. I don't mind being half naked in front of crowds of people. Its fun to be able to be myself with my crazy hair and tattoos and edgy dark style and have people appreciate me for it. Its truly a blessing to be able to show others you don't have to be a cookie cutter barbie to be a model. I have a huge scar on my left calf from an accident 2 years ago. I fell through a glass table and it cut my calf off. After a year of learning to walk again, I see my scar as a trophy, something that makes me unique. I never have it edited out of photos. Its a part of me, and I like to be a symbol of perfect imperfections.
DO YOU COME FROM A BACKGROUND OF TRAINING IN THE ARTS?
Well with my mother being a model for years, and an artist, my grandfather being an artist and writer, and my uncle being an actor, you would assume id have taken classes of some sort in different arts. But I haven't. Art just comes naturally to me, in every sense of the word. Art and modeling, photography, writing etc can't be taught. It has to be a part of who you are.
WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE TYPES OF OUTFITS TO MODEL IN?
I usually have fun with any type of outfit I'm put in. Generally when I get to pick my own wardrobe its ripped fishnets and electrical tape. But I also enjoy cosplay outfits too! I want to do a photoshoot as Princess Bubblegum! Ten points if you guys know who that is!
WHAT ARE YOUR LEAST FAVORITES?
I don't have too many least favorites, as everything is a way to express creativity. But id have to say the most uncomfortable would be fake blood. In some of my most recent photoshoots, I shot with fake blood. It was oh so sticky! and when you're nude(ish) and sticky syrup blood drips to my lady parts, it gets to be quite a bit annoying. I always try and make the best out of these situations though, like the blood shoot with Jessica Nichole. I literally was spitting fake blood on her and biting her neck. It was hard not to laugh, not only because it was silly, but I had a sugar high from the corn syrup! But the photos turned out rad!
WHAT IS IT ABOUT TATTOOS THAT INTRIGUES YOU?
Tattoos are a permanent way to paint your body. It creates Living art! I’m addicted to it. I’m over half way to covering my whole left leg, and working on both sleeves! Its beautiful. I can't get enough of it.
ARE THERE ANY OTHER CREATIVE MEDIUMS YOU WORK IN?
Photography is my passion. Even taking a semi plain photo and creating a photo manipulation with it gets me excited. Other than that, I love painting, designing my own clothing, and songwriting. Somehow all the men I date tend to be musicians, it works for me because we can write together. To share my passions with someone else is not a bad gig.
WHAT KIND OF MUSIC DO YOU LIKE?
That’s hard. I love all music. Being a songwriter myself, I've found that I have a love for almost every genre of music. From acoustic indie folk like "The Civil Wars" to poppy dance party rock like "Joy Island" to Hip hop (I love to shake my ass) to music that makes me feel so many emotions like Mumford and sons. I also tend to get into listening to my friends or guys I'm seeings band. It puts my musical taste all over the map. It really just depends on my mood. Like right now, my iPod has me on a rotation of a techno song by "Krewela", my friends solo project "William Control", LMFAO, Mumford and sons, and Digital Daggers. I swear my music has split personalities.\
WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO DO FOR FUN?
I love to dance, listen to good music, go to shows, drink wine, whisky and beer, gossip with my best friends Candyse and Jessica, and write music... and obviously Modeling!
