HOW DID YOU GET STARTED MODELING?
I started modeling shortly after my eighteenth birthday for my mail order hair extensions business, which gave me a crash course in alternative fashion and hair modeling- if the photos didn’t sell the products, then I didn’t eat! About a year and a half later I started modeling for other projects with local photographers for fun and to earn a little extra money. I uploaded my portfolio to the internet and before I knew it I was being invited to model for some of the top photographers and alternative designers all over the UK and Europe. It’s been a couple of years and I’m now looking forward to my first tour of Asia in November 2010.
WHAT EXCITES YOU ABOUT MODELING?
I love traveling, making art, meeting people, wearing beautiful couture clothing and storming a runway or nothing at all and posing in beautiful natural surroundings, having my hair and makeup done by creative professionals, but most of all, I like making images that will last forever. That’s what gives me my biggest buzz.
WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE TYPES OF OUTFITS TO MODEL IN?
I don’t have a particular genre that I prefer, so much as a deep love of beautifully made couture by talented artists like Jane Doe Latex and Peccatus Latex Couture. I model a lot of latex and corsets, which are fun to wear and very photogenic.
WHAT ARE YOUR LEAST FAVORITES?
Anything that’s poorly made, and corsets that are really tight across my hips instead of my waist. I hate that!
WHAT KIND OF SHOOTS WOULD YOU LIKE TO WORK ON IN THE FUTURE?
My current ambition is to do a fashion shoot on safari with a bunch of different exotic animals. That would be really cool!
ARE THERE ANY OTHER CREATIVE MEDIUMS YOU WORK IN?
I have just started acting training at a London studio- it’s incredibly hard work yet strangely addictive!
WHAT KIND OF MUSIC DO YOU LIKE?
I hate it when people say “a bit of everything” but it’s actually true in my case, except for Country and Western... but even then, I have to make an exception for Johnny Cash. I like hard rock, rock ‘n’ roll, heavy metal, EBM, electro, electroclash, proper punk, industrial, glam, goth, dubstep, indie, new wave, new grave and even some hip-hop.
WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO DO FOR FUN?
I like to travel, absolutely anywhere, just to see what it’s like. I live in London and on my days off I often visit art galleries and museums and treat myself to lunch in a fancy restaurant. I like having philosophical debates while drinking prosecco and raving under UV light while drinking a gin and tonic. I read constantly, usually several books at a time, and go to gigs on the rare occasions that I don’t have a shoot in the morning. I have a ridiculously large and ever-expanding DVD collection and am lucky enough to live just around the corner from a gorgeous little 1930s arthouse cinema, where I like to watch crackly old films and pretend I’ve gone back in time.
