HOW DID YOU GET INTERESTED IN WRITING?
Even though I come across as bubbly and fun and up for partying all night, I'm actually a reclusive geek at heart. I'd much rather listen to music or watch dvds or write or read and I'm obsessed with Marvel comics, especially The Runaways. As a kid my mum would try to get me to go and see school friends but I was much happier writing and reading. I wrote my first novel at age eight named 'Oliver and Molly' about two children living in Victorian London who escape a workhouse and the ending was Molly dying of cholera. When my mum read it she couldn't believe an eight year old had written it, and I'm pretty sure she assumed I was some sort of antisocial freak of nature. Turning into a teenager I preferred spending time putting on gigs, going to gigs and generally being a pretentious adolescent. It was only when I was twenty I took up writing again (minus a few articles I had printed in various small-time 'zines which were really the ranting of a disgruntled 16 year old). I began writing poetry and short stories.
HOW DID YOU DEVELOP THAT INTEREST INTO A CAREER?
I do many other things as well as writing and modeling so I wouldn't say it's my career as such, but one of my ways of paying bills. I began entering poetry contests and won a few, then was asked to have my own column in a major magazine over here in Spain and since then have been taken more seriously as a writer hahaha! I would say if anyone's aiming to be an author, just don't ever get disheartened by rejection. Think, fuck you, I know my stuff's good and just keep on trying because if you really want it you will succeed.
WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR FAVORITE PIECE THAT YOU'VE WRITTEN?
My favourite piece I have written is my book of short stories and poetry which has to have the most pretentious, arrogant name ever, but at the time I thought the alliteration was cool. No-one likes the name of my book, they kind of look at me like hey, you're insane. But still, it's called Even Entrails taste Better than Bitterness and the majority of the poetry is mixing mental health in with religious imagery which I loved the idea of. It's a pretty dark book for sure.
WHAT ARE YOU WORKING ON NOW?
I'm currently working on a short story book named 'Eleven', a book of anti-love poetry, a novel about privileged teenagers, a novel about a woman with OCD which is actually really uplifting, and a series of children's novels which feature animals most kids don't know about and specifically ones that kids with fur allergies could keep as pets.
HOW DID YOU GET STARTED MODELING?
I would say I got started into the modeling I actually enjoy was the day I turned 18 and became a 'trashykitten' (the site is now a hardcore porn site by the way so you won't find me there now) under the name of Barbie. I was the face and body of their merchandise which made my mother buy the entire range for the family for Christmas. I also modeled for various other websites and band merchandise under the name Cyanide. I'd wanted to do alternative modeling since I was about 14 because I love the magazine Bizarre and was always fascinated with body mods and the girls on the sites were the most beautiful I'd ever seen and so unlike the people I knew. I had tattoos and piercings since I was 16 and at the time there weren't many blonde girls involved in the alt-scene so it made me feel like I was paving some sort of path I guess. The blonde girls in the scene now are ALL gorgeous and I feel a bit less special haha!!
WHAT EXCITES YOU ABOUT MODELING?
I love getting dressed up, having my hair and make up done and I love posing and the lights, the glamour and the the entire experience. Amphetamin is kind of my alter-ego and it's good to let out the exhibitionist in me. And obviously I love seeing the photos afterward! What also excites me is meeting new photographers and models and make up artists etc and making new friends and contacts
WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE TYPES OF OUTFITS TO MODEL IN?
I have always done topless, lingerie, that kind of thing but I actually am happiest in a pair of cut off shorts and a vest - My style is very Alabama Whorley! I also love anything nautical; all my tattoos are Sailor Jerry inspired or flash - I even have the 'Stewed, Screwed and Tattooed' on my ankle! Very unladylike ;) And of course, I love all pin-up style shoots and would love to do more of those.
WHAT ARE YOUR LEAST FAVORITES?
I have done them a lot over the years, but I do not like doing nudes unless they are extremely tasteful. Other than that I'm usually up for anything.
WHAT KIND OF SHOOTS WOULD YOU LIKE TO WORK ON IN THE FUTURE?
I want to get more involved in alternative clothing ranges a lot, it's something I love to do and I love anything bright and colourful so me and a photographer have come up with some awesome ideas. But I am generally up for anything so feel free to message me on MM!
ARE THERE ANY OTHER CREATIVE MEDIUMS YOU WORK IN?
Creative mediums? Um Roller Derby I guess, I'm currently in talks with writing for a London Magazine. I'm so bloody boring, sorry! Ha!
WHAT KIND OF MUSIC DO YOU LIKE?
I like all kinds of music, from Kap Bambino to Blacklisted. Depends what mood I'm in! I do love hardcore and punk and electro and I'm stopping myself and just telling you my favourite bands and recording artists. Bands - Cursive, Weezer, Blacklisted, Xrayspex, Bright Eyes, New Found Glory, Hazen Street (so so funny), Madball, Deftones, Shiny Toy Guns. Recording artists - Elliott Smith, Leadbelly, Leonard Cohen, Robyn, Sia, Aimee Mann and Bob Dylan. I cried the day Elliott Smith died, that is how much I love him, it is not normal.
My favourite films: Igby Goes Down, The Royal Tenenbaums, Candy, Welcome to the Dollhouse and Anchorman. Authors: Graham Greene, Chuck Palahnuick, Bret Easton Ellis, Will Elliott and Douglas Coupland.
WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO DO FOR FUN?
For fun I like to go with friends for a frozen yoghurt (I'm disgustingly obsessed) and then for cocktails and good old debaucherous fun. I like to roller skate and beat the shit out of people whilst doing it, I like to grab a desperadoess and watch something from my stupidly large dvd and boxset collection. I collect comic and film memorabilia which I know, is totally lame but I love it. And I'm also a ninja, so that's pretty sweet.
