HOW DID YOU GET STARTED MODELING?
Being 5ft10, blonde and reasonably slender, I got the obligatory, 'oh you should be a model' from relatives, and random dudes hitting on me a few times, but when I was at school I was painfully shy and not very popular so my self esteem was pretty low and would never have considered it. Wasn't until I moved to London at 20, that I got 'scouted' by an 'agency' on the street who were pretty much just a scam to get you to pay a stupid amount for bad photos they convinced you you needed, taken at their studio. Though every cloud has a silver lining, and I ended up exchanging messages with a girl on myspace who was a successful glamour model and she advised me who to approach, and gave me a me a few pointers. So armed with the photos I got done, off I went. And the rest is history.
WHAT EXCITES YOU ABOUT MODELING?
I'm a trained actress, and I see modeling as related to this, I enjoy conveying emotion in order to make art.
The traveling and meeting so many fascinating people is brilliant.
On a superficial level, I'm just a grown up version of the little girl who used to get so oh-very-excited come Halloween as I got to dress up and make myself look ridiculous!
Also love seeing myself published, though that doesn't happen so often as so much content is just bought as stock and especially when I'm doing adult orientated work, often the publishers just buy the sets and you never know when it's out or which title, etc.
WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE TYPES OF OUTFITS TO MODEL IN?
I love modeling in anything I wouldn't normally get the chance to wear. One fashion show I got to wear dresses retailing at about thousand pounds, and diamonds worth about forty thousand - that was fun!
I jump at the chance to wear latex, as my own wardrobe is fairly limited in that department. Also got the opportunity to wear some really cute stockings and genuine 50s underwear for a couple fetish sites.
WHAT ARE YOUR LEAST FAVORITES?
I suppose a few really tacky glamour ensembles - once had to wear a Wicked Weasel bikini and it was neither flattering (at all!) or comfortable.
I also won't wear real fur.
WHAT KIND OF SHOOTS WOULD YOU LIKE TO WORK ON IN THE FUTURE?
To do more alt shots - lots of wacky make-up, theatrical clothing and props, good narrative.
Awhile back, I was lucky enough to do underwater modeling for aquawoman.com which was really fun as I'm a total water baby, so love to do more underwater work.
Any shoots which require traveling and/or in unusual locations are also high on my list!
ARE THERE ANY OTHER CREATIVE MEDIUMS YOU WORK IN?
I write a lot and have a journalistic background. Currently working on a novel. Constantly writing poetry, but whether or not it's any good...! Haha.
Moving to a bigger apartment soon, so hopefully I'll be able to start painting again too.
WHAT KIND OF MUSIC DO YOU LIKE?
Music is, and has been, a passion of mine for years. Preferences are industrial, electro, ambient, death metal, folk, stoner rock, doom metal, classical, EBM, black metal, and goth rock. Current favorite bands at the moment are Ghost and Black Breath. Also loving London based metal band, Maxdmyz, who have great electro elements to their music - kinda Audioslave meets Rammstein.
WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO DO FOR FUN?
Spend far too much of my time in darkly lit rock bars with friends or meandering vacantly around art galleries and various random museums.
There's a few London based alternative/fetish clubs like Club Antichrist and Torture Garden which are fantastic, and I love going to those.
I go to a lot of gigs, most people I know are musicians and I used to do music promotion so I seem to end up going to heaps of shows, quite by chance sometimes.
